Ayden had his first pumpkin patch adventure this past week. He and Mommy went with the Mom’s group that they’ve belonged to ever since he was born. Looks like he really had a great time.

My dear sister at Apron Strings and Angst gave me my 1st blog award this week, and I am most thankful for it. Ever since I started working again, I haven’t had much time to work on my blog. I don’t guess I’ll ever be a serious blogger, but I must admit I love it when I am able to work on it. So I post my award with much appreciation for it. Thanks Sis!

I’m not one to write reviews on products. This is actually the first one I’ve done. But after buying this carpet cleaner yesterday at Walmart, I must say “I LOVE THIS MACHINE!”
I have five Shih-tzus, so you can imagine they have “accidents” at times even though they are house broken. Years ago I bought a Hoover steam cleaner for about $199, and it just did not do the job I expected, left the carpet too wet to suit me and didn’t do as deep a cleaning as I needed. Then I bought a Dirt Devil steam cleaner for about $80, but again it just didnt’ do what I needed it to, and after a few years it started leaking unless I quickly pulled the tank out of the machine.
I’ve been researching carpet cleaners on and off for several months now. Yesterday I saw two of the new Bissells at Target, one was $199 and the other was $149. I came home and did some more research and decided I was going to get the more expensive one.
So off I go to Walmart because they had the more expensive one for $189. The first Walmart didn’t have the one I was looking for, but one of the associates found it at another store. When I get to the other store, guess what? They didn’t have it either. I was just about to leave when I found a box for the ProHeat Turbo on the vacuum cleaner side of the aisle. It was normally $159, but had been reduced to $124. I studied the features on the box and determined it had the same bells and whistles as the more expensive one, so I bought it and brought it home.
Before opening the box, I went online again to the Bissell website and looked it up by model #, and figured it might have been an older model, but it had the same features as the newer ones. After spending about 15 minutes assembling it and reading the manual, I was ready to test it out in my hallway.
I was amazed! It cleaned the carpet and did not leave the floor soaking wet, in fact it was just damp. It came with a 16oz size of spot remover and cleaner, and it did a great job of getting the urine stains out.
I really like that the carpet solution tank is separate from the water tank. It has what Bissell calls a “smart mix” and you can get the cleaner for traffic areas, normal cleaning or water rinse.
It also came with two accessories tools, one is powered and the other isn’t. By turning a dial on the machine to “Tools” you can switch from floor cleaning to the attachments without having to anything else.
It also has a heater built in to it and will heat normal hot tap water up to 25 degrees hotter while cleaning.
DH had just cleaned the hallway a couple of weeks ago with the old Dirt Devil. I was really amazed at the amount of dirt that came out of the carpet when I cleaned it. Cleaning up the machine is easy, just pull the water tank out and emtpy it in the sink, rinse it out if need be and you’re ready to go again.
Because I found this machine on clearance, I was able to save about $65. I am really pleased with my purchase and strongly recommend the Bissell products.
